At the LVMH Watch Week 2026, Tiffany & Co. unveiled a limited-edition chronograph wristwatch called the "Tiffany Timer," with only 60 pieces released worldwide, to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the brand's first chronograph. Notably, this timepiece is powered by the legendary El Primero movement, specially customized by Zenith, another brand within the LVMH group. The Tiffany Timer watch (model 75450125) was launched to commemorate the brand's first chronograph pocket watch, the "Tiffany & Co. Timing Watch," which debuted in 1866. However, the new model is not a replica of the original, but a modern luxury timepiece that pays homage to the functionality of that 160-year-old pocket watch by incorporating Zenith's iconic El Primero chronograph movement. The El Primero movement, created in 1969, is one of the earliest automatic chronograph movements ever produced, and its classic design is still considered a benchmark in the field of chronographs.
The case is crafted from 40mm high-polished platinum, and the sapphire crystal bezel and screw-down case back ensure water resistance up to 100 meters. The uniquely shaped crown on the right side features a faceted design that replicates Tiffany's famous six-prong setting, reminiscent of the brand's classic solitaire rings. A pair of large oval chronograph pushers flank the crown, visually connecting the crown to the case profile and protecting it from accidental snagging.
The dial features the brand's iconic Tiffany Blue, crafted with meticulous attention to detail: eight layers of matte blue varnish are applied, followed by fifteen layers of transparent lacquer, resulting in a rich and profound hue. The hour markers are twelve rectangular-cut diamonds, the hands are made of white gold, and the remaining markings are printed in dark gray using a transfer printing process, creating an elegant contrast with the light blue dial. Unlike typical El Primero watches, which have a date window at 4:30, this model moves the date window to the 6 o'clock position and features a Tiffany Blue date disc matching the dial color.
The Tiffany Timer is powered by a specially modified Zenith El Primero 400 automatic movement, with a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz) and a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. While the basic architecture of this movement is found in several Zenith watches, the Tiffany version features different finishing on the bridges, and the automatic winding system has been recalibrated to accommodate the weight of the custom rotor. The rotor features a curved openwork design, and is adorned with an 18K gold hand-engraved motif inspired by Tiffany's classic "Bird on a Rock" brooch.
